Outright winner was Tom Gleeson of Orange, in 52m 28s, 1m 13 seconds outside the record set by Neil Labinsky in 2008. Winner of the Men's Open in 2008 was Neil Labinsky (pictured) from Queensland. He put in a beautiful run, setting a new record for the Great Volcanic at 50m
47s, taking 1m 33s off Tom Gleeson's winning time in the previous year.. Second was Bradley White at 52m 20s, and third place went to
Tom Gleeson (2007 winner) at 55m 09s.
In the Women's Open Veronica Wallington (pictured) was also impressive. She claimed first place (fourth to finish) in
56m 38s, just 43 seconds over her record time of 55m 55s in 2007.
Second was Vanessa Haverd, from Canberra in 58m 56s, and Julie Quinn,
also from Canberra, came third with 1h 02m 01s.
Local Rob Bennett won the Junior Men's Open with a record time of 57m 20s,
while Veronica Wallington, being under 18 y.o., also claimed the Junior
