20 Years of the Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge!

Join us for the 2026 Great Volcanic Challenge on Gaanha Bula–Mount Canobolas, near beautiful Orange in the Central West of NSW.   The date is set for Sunday, 29 March 2026 — so mark your calendars!

This year is extra special as we celebrate 20 years of running (and walking!) this iconic mountain event.

Over two decades, thousands of participants have taken on the challenge, enjoyed the spectacular views, and been part of something truly memorable.

The course takes you over three peaks and through stunning native forest, with a total climb of 520 metres over 11 km. It’s a tough but rewarding run or walk — just as the name suggests!

Come and be part of the celebrations
Take the challenge and join us on race day!
